Sanitary couplings are typically specified for pharmaceutical, biotech, semi conductor, cosmetic and food & beverage industries where ultra-cleanliness is required. Sanitary couplings are internally polished to a 20 RA micro-inch mirror finish. The smooth bore has no voids, dead spaces, crevices or fillers that may trap bacteria. These couplings can be easily sanitized using steam or other methods (CIP, SIP etc.). FDA and USP certification is available as an option. Other options include extra fine RA micro-inch inside polish, electro-polish and outside polish to a matte finish. Sanitary couplings are available in the same sizes as standard couplings. DryLink® Powder Couplings are sanitary High Containment split-butterfly Valves (HCV) that assure the safe and secure transfer of toxic powders in the pharmaceutical manufacturing processes of pills and capsules. The HCV’s patented seal ensures that the stringent Occupational Exposure Limit values (OELs) are met to ensure workers are not exposed to hazardous chemicals.
